Flint Hills Technical College has concluded finalist interviews for the college’s Presidential Search.
Dr. Sandra Kiddoo, the current Chief Academic Officer of Hazard Community and Technical College in Kentucky, rounded out the finalist pool with her visit to Emporia Monday. Dr. Kiddoo has previously served as the Vice-President of Academics at Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin and says she was elated to be named a finalist for the president’s position at FHTC.
Dr. Kiddoo says serving as a president of a college has been a goal of hers for the past several years. She says one of her first major priorities if selected, will be focusing on post-pandemic education.
Dr. Kiddoo follows one-time Vice Chancellor of Instruction at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, MO Dr. Caron Daugherty and Dr. Herbert Reidel the former president of Lurleen B Wallace Community College in Andalusia, AL.
The search for a new president was triggered by the retirement announcement of current President Dr. Dean Hollenbeck last fall. Hollenbeck has led the college since 2006.
The college board has said it plans to name Hollenbeck’s replacement in June.
