The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Missouri Western Saturday.
Emporia State won the first game 4-3 in 8 innings. Alexis Dial scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the 8th inning.
Karly Johnson, Abby Ward, and Destiny Ojigoh also drove in runs for the Lady Hornets in the 2nd inning. Missouri Western tied the game in the 3rd inning with 3 runs.
Missouri Western won the 2nd game 9-3. Western took command of the game with a 5 run 6th inning. That came after Emporia State scored 3 runs in the top of the 6th.
The Emporia State softball team is now 14-14 for the season and 4-6 in the MIAA. They are scheduled to host Central Missouri on Friday.
