Repairs are complete at Flint Hills Mall to repair a significant water leak.
Water seepage had been noted for about 10 days before repairs were able to get underway Tuesday. The first round of repairs were successful until the mall pressurized the lines Wednesday afternoon and discovered the source of the leak was under the building’s foundation causing work to be extended through Friday afternoon.
The issues led to water being shut off for the southern half of the mall since Tuesday. Mall manager Clarence Frye says despite the scope of the issues the impacts were relatively minor.
Crystal Nails was scheduled to remain closed until Monday with the movie theatre planning to remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.
Frye says the movie theatre has reopened for showings with Crystal Nails planning to reopen Saturday.
