Fire danger will be high in the KVOE listening area Friday.
The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties from noon to 8 pm Friday.
The watch comes due to a combination of low humidity levels between 20 to 35 percent and high winds ranging between 20 to 30 mph expected throughout the day. Outdoor burning in any of the previously mentioned counties will not be recommended as any fires that become out of control will likely spread rapidly.
The city of Emporia does not allow burning within the city limits anytime wind speeds exceed 15 mph.
