Sports in Kansas has handed out their post-season basketball awards. 32 Area players and 2 coaches were recognized.
Olpe Coaches Jesse Nelson and Chris Schmidt have been named the 1A Division I Coaches of the year after both the girls and boys won State Championships.
Receiving 1st team honors.
Olpes Macy Smith was named the 1A Division I player of the year and is a 1st team 1A DI selection and 3rd team all classes selection.
Olpes Mya Bishop is also a 1st team 1A Division I selection.
Also, Hattie Fisher of Olpe is an honorable mention 1A Division I
Sarah McWilliams of Waverly was a 1st team 1A DII selection.
Lebos Brooklyn Jones is a 1A-DI 2nd team selection and Abby Peak is an honorable mention.
Burlingames Kaylin Noonan and Daelyn Winters are 2nd team 1A-DI selections and Emmy Punches is an honorable mention.
Hayden Serna of Osage City is a 2nd team 3A selection

Kylee Scheer of Cheney, the 3A State Champion, was named the 3A player of the year for the 3rd consecutive year also 1st team All-State and 1st team 3A.
Madison Skelton of St. Thomas Aquinas, the 5A state champion, was a 1st team 5A and 3rd team all-state selection.
