After having its review of low-enrollment programs campuswide accepted by the Kansas Board of Regents last week, Emporia State University has announced a new major in the School of Business.
The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship is designed to help students with skills and resources to start a business, regardless of their area of interest. Skills taught as part of this major include creating solutions to customer issues, creating business plans, conducting market research and working in collaborative environments.
The program launches this upcoming fall and will be the first of its kind in the United States to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
This follows the development of the Master of Science in Nursing, announced in January. It also follows the Kansas Board of Regents’ decision to accept Emporia State’s recommendation last week to continue eight low-enrollment programs and to merge or monitor three others.
