The Emporia State softball team lost to both Augustana and Sioux Falls Saturday in games played in the Hyvee Classic.
Number 3 ranked Augustana outscored Emporia State 6-2. Augustana scored 2 runs in the 6th inning and added 2 more in the 7th to break a 2-2 tie.
Emporia State scored single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings on singles by Abbey Ward and Brittanie Shepherd.
Sioux Falls outscored Emporia State 5-3. Sioux Falls scored 4 of the runs in the 1st inning.
Emporia State Coach April Rosales said they need to play better.
Emporia State plays Augustana and Sioux Falls again on Sunday.
The first pitch for the Augustana game is set for 2 pm. The first pitch for the Sioux Falls game is set for 4 pm. Both games to be played at the Trusler Sports Complex
