The Emporia State men and women finished in 2nd place in the Emporia State hosted track meet Friday, finishing behind Fort Hays State.
Emporia State had 7 first-place finishes, 6 provisional Qualifiers for nationals, and a school record.
Coach Steve Blocker called it a good first meet.
Megan McManis won the womens pole vault with a provisional qualifying vault for nationals and set a school record with a vault of 12 feet 7.5 inches.
Calvin Morgan had the fastest time in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Jasmine Hurla took first in the 400-meter dash.
Taysean Goodwin won the 100-meter dash with a provisional time for nationals.
Chase Rooney had the fastest time in the 400 hurdles.
Kaleb Barber won the mens Long Jump.
The mens 4 by 400 relay team of Juwan Johnson, Carter Cox, Jack Warren, and Hayden Goodpaster finished in 1st place.
Alyssa Conway had provisional throws in the Hammer and Javelin finishing in 5th place in both events.
Travis Morrison had a provision mark in the shot put and finished in 2nd place.
Carter Swindel had a provisional throw in the javelin and finished in 5th place.
Emporia State will host the ESU Relays next Friday and Saturday.
