It will be a busy Friday for Emporia State athletes, the track and field, baseball, volleyball, and soccer teams are scheduled to compete.
The Emporia State track and field team hosts their first outdoor meet of the spring.
Field events begin at 11 am and the track prelims begin at 12 pm at Welch Stadium, Zola Witten Track.
The Emporia State baseball team hosts Central Missouri, beginning a 3 game series.

The first pitch Friday is set for 4 pm at the Trusler Sports Complex. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday. Game 2 of the doubleheader will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
The Emporia State volleyball team hosts Newman. The Lady Hornets are 2 and 5 for the spring. Sophomore Shelby Ebert says she has seen improvement.
The first serve is set for 6 pm at White Auditorium.
The Emporia State soccer team plays at Newman. They are coming off a 4-1 win over Central Oklahoma, goalie Jillian Patton says they need to keep improving.
The Emporia State soccer team is 1-0-0 to start the season.
