Lyon County deputies say they have been getting calls this week about somebody impersonating an officer as part of a scam effort.
Several reports said the caller impersonated an employee from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Another call involved a man identifying himself as “Captain Rob Hall” with the Burlington Police Department calling on behalf of Lyon County deputies. The man said the person missed a subpoena and was in contempt of court. He directed that person to go to CVS and buy gift cards. When the person asked if she could just go to the Sheriff’s Office to resolve the matter, the suspect said she would get arrested if she showed up.
All calls are coming from one number: 620-263-1458.
