Emporia city commissioners have a busy Wednesday morning ahead.
Commissioners have an adjourned action meeting coming at 9:30 am. Commissioners could approve a $10,000 funding request from Halfway to Everywhere, with the money coming from the city’s transient guest tax fund. Commissioners could also authorize the sale of the former Dynamic Distribution facility at 3601 West Sixth. The prospective buyer has not been announced.
Once that meeting is done, commissioners will move directly into their planned study meeting. Commissioners will continue their recent discussions on updates to city code to bring electric-assisted scooters to town, following last week’s decision to sign a memorandum of understanding with Bird Bikes in that regard.
Other business for the study meeting includes an interlocal agreement for the city’s urban growth area, ongoing talks about proposed stormwater improvements for the Becker Addition in northwest Emporia, an updated water tap fee structure and a grant from the Kansas Parks and Recreation Association to build a fitness court in C of E Park.
The adjourned action meeting starts at 9:30 am, with the study meeting immediately following. Both are in the Municipal Court Room.
