Both Emporia High golfers have advanced to day 2 of the 5A State golf tournament being played at Newtons Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
Brooks Sauder finished the 1st round 7 over par with a 79. He is tied for 17th place with 6 other golfers.
Caden Massey finished the first round 9 over par with an 81. He is tied for 30th place with 3 other golfers.
Both were among the 18 golfers not on a top 6 team to advance.
At the 1A tournament being played at the Emporia Golf Course. Olpes Max Blaufuss shot a first-round 87 he is tied for 11th place. Jordan Barnard shot a 90, he is tied for 18th place. Both Blaufuss and Barnard qualified for day two of the 1A State tournament. They were among the top 18 golfers not on one of the top 6 teams.
At the 3A tournament being played at Hesston.
Burlingtons Carson Hess shot a 93, Nickolas Davies shot a 95.
Osage Citys Gunnar Fort shot a 97.
They did not qualify for day 2.
At the Sand Greens Tournament,
Chase Countys Lathe Watkins finished in a tie for 3rd place with a 75.
Sophia Glanville finished in 24th place with a 112.
