KVOE listeners received a serving of gratitude and hamburgers Thursday thanks to KVOE and Mark II Lumber.
The annual KVOE Listener Appreciation BBQ took place outside of Mark II Lumber in the late morning and early afternoon hours. Hundreds of loyal listeners made their way through the line which stretched all the way down Payton and on to East Sixth Ave at one time.
This year’s BBQ was altered slightly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was held in a drive-thru format. KVOE Station Manager Ron Thomas says he was pleased they got to have the event and thanked listeners for their continued support.
Stan Grimwood of Mark II Lumber says despite the format change, they were extremely pleased to be involved with the event once again.
In addition to getting some fresh hamburgers courtesy of Bruff’s Sports Bar and Grill, listeners also had the chance to stop into Mark II and register to win one of two tremendous prizes, a new charbroil four-burner gas grill or a yard package. Bud Southard claimed the grill while Kyle Jones won the yard package which includes a seed spreader, hose, sprayer, rake and fertilizer.
