One Area softball team punched its ticket to state Tuesday.
Mission Valley earned a trip to the 2-1A softball state tournament. Mission Valley defeated McLouth 6-4 in the semi-finals and then shutout Troy 11-0 in the championship game of the Wathena regional.
At the 2-1A softball regional at Leon Bluestem,
Chase County defeated Bluestem 1-0.
Burlingame shutout Yates Center 11-0.
In the Championship game, Burlingame was leading 1-0 in the 4th inning when the game was halted due to rain. They will resume play Wednesday, with the game being moved to Andover Central High School.
The 2-1A softball regional hosted by Mound City has been moved to Paola.
In Wednesdays semi-finals Lyndon plays Jayhawk Linn and Marmaton Valley plays Central Heights.
The 3A Softball regional hosted by Burlington has been moved to Ottawa. Council Grove defeated Osage City 6-1. Burlington Shutout West Franklin 6-0.
Wednesday Council Grove plays Prairie View and Burlington faces Anderson County in the semi-finals.
At the 2-1A baseball regional hosted by Lyndon.
Mission Valley was shut out by Maranatha Academy 3-0 in the Championship game.
In the semi-finals, Mission Valley defeated Kansas City Christian 10-2.
Maranatha Academy shutout Lyndon 11-0.
Lyndon advanced to the semi-finals with an 11-1 win over Marais des Cygnes Valley.
The 2-1A baseball regional at Humboldt resumes Wednesday with semi-final games. Lebo/Waverly plays Southern Lyon County. The other semi-final game has Colony Crest playing Central Heights.
The 2-1A baseball regional hosted by Marion will resume Wednesday at Emporias Trusler Sports Complex.
Chase County plays Marion in one of the semi-finals.
Sedgwick plays Moundridge in the other semi-final.
