It was a heartbreaking end to the season for the Emporia High girls soccer team Monday night. Salina South in overtime defeated the Lady Spartans 4-3.
South scored the first goal of the match. Then Emporia Highs Hannah Boa would score the next 3 goals. Her first goal came with 6:34 to play in the first half. She gave Emporia High the lead with 12 seconds to play in the first half. Boa picked up the hat trick with 29:30 to play in the second half giving the Lady Spartans a 3-1 lead. Salina South would tie the match at 3 with over 9 minutes to play. Salina South scored the winner 6 minutes into overtime.
The Lady Spartans finish the season with an 8-9 record.
