The Emporia State track and field team had 8 athletes compete at a last-chance qualifying meet hosted by Nebraska Kearney Sunday.
Travis Morrison won the shot put and became just the third person in school history to go over the 60-foot mark. His mark of 60 feet 3.75 ” is the 3rd best in school history and 7th best in the nation this year.
Al Feuerbach at 65 feet and Jason Stuke at 61’10.5″ are 1 and 2 at Emporia State.
Alyssa Conway won the hammer but did not better her school-record throw of 189 feet 1 inch.
Jazmin Williams had provisional qualifying long jump but it did not improve on her season-best of 19 feet 9.75 inches.
The national meet qualifiers will be announced on Tuesday.
