The Emporia High boys tennis doubles team of Taylor Moorman and Brenden Kienholz finished in 11th place at the 5A State tournament.
The duo was 3-3 in matches played.
They began with a 6-0,6-1 win over Barreno/Perkins from Highland Park. They then defeated Stove/Verdict of Mill Valley 6-4,6-3.
They were defeated in the quarterfinals by the duo of Steven/Steven of Bishop Carroll 6-2,6-4.
They were defeated by Murrell/Rogers of Maize 9-3 in their first consolation match. They lost in a tiebreaker to Eskridge/Krumm 9-8(4).
In the 11th place match, they defeated Musser/Thompson of Newton 9-4.
As a team, Emporia High finished in 13th place.
Salina Central won the 5A State championship.
