With graduations coming this weekend, USD 252 Southern Lyon County is preparing to relax some of its COVID-19 protocols.
Superintendent Mike Argabright says that will begin as soon as next week. He says that will give the district a “trial run” before summer school begins.
Meanwhile, plans are in place for commencement activities inside the Olpe High gymnasium at 1 pm Saturday and inside the Hartford gym at 3 pm Saturday. All the tickets available to families have been claimed.
During the board’s regular meeting Wednesday, members continued their ongoing discussions on the strategic plan, focusing on Individual Plans of Study — a key component of accreditation. The plan as a whole could be approved by July.
Also, the board reviewed its recent success in the Kansans Can Star Recognition program. The district was one of three districts across the state to be honored in six different categories. The program is designed to support the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation model by helping districts pinpoint where they want to focus improvement efforts.
