Scheduling continues for students at Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School with a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic coming May 21.
The clinic will be from 9-11 am at Emporia Middle School and will involve primary dose Pfizer vaccines. Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern says this will benefit students and others alike.
Parents can sign their students up by going online to www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org.
Meanwhile, Millbern says Johnson & Johnson shots will have a special day. People wanting the single-shot dose can stop by the Flint Hills Community Health Center on Tuesdays starting May 18. Residents interested in those shots can walk in or they can call the Health Center at 620-342-4864 to schedule an appointment. Moderna vaccines will be available the other days of the work week.
To this point, about 44 percent of Lyon County’s currently eligible population of people ages 16 and over, or about 11,600 residents, have been fully vaccinated.
Millbern will have the latest update on Lyon County’s COVID-19 response on the May 20 Newsmaker segment.
