If the current weather forecast holds, get ready for a soggy six to seven days ahead.
Rain chances are underway now through at least next Thursday, and TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers is expecting decent rain totals, both through the upcoming weekend and through most of next week.
Meyers says rainfall should be scattered Friday and Saturday mornings, with more isolated rain in the afternoons both days. That’s notable with Emporia State tentatively planning outdoor graduations at Welch Stadium and the Flatland Cruisers having their annual car show this weekend.
As far as severe weather, the risk is quite low. The KVOE listening area is on the eastern fringe of a marginal risk area for Saturday, with hail and wind the main concerns. There is also a marginal risk for severe weather Sunday.
