The Emporia State baseball team opens MIAA Tournament play Thursday afternoon when they play at #2 ranked Central Missouri in the first game of a best of 3 first-round series.
The Hornets have won 5 of their last 6 games going into the tournament. Senior catcher Cooper Minnick says they have taken on a new attitude.
Central Missouri swept the regular-season series with the Hornets.
The first pitch is set for 4 pm.
The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9 with coverage beginning at 3:45p.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Friday afternoon beginning at 2 pm with the if-necessary game scheduled for Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 pm.
The winner of the series advances to the MIAA 4 team double-elimination tournament to be played in Joplin, Missouri May 20-23rd.
The winner of that tournament receives the MIAAs automatic bid to the NCAA Central Regional tournament.
The Central Regional tournament will be played in Warrensburg, Missouri beginning May 27th.
