It turned out to be a very good day for area high school athletes at the 2A and 1A State Track and Field meets Saturday.
8 gold medals and a total of 48 medals were earned by area athletes.
Hamiltons Kelton Buettner earned 3 gold medals. His first came in the 1A boys triple jump, with a jump of 43’11.75″.
He also had the best long jump, with a jump of 21’11.25″. He also had the fastest time in the 300 hurdles.
Kelton finished in 2nd place in the 110 hurdles.
Madisons Casey Helm earned 2 gold medals. His first came in the discus with a toss of 164-10. He won the event by 7 inches.
Casey also earned a Gold Medal in the shot put with a mark of 55’4.5″
Drew Stutesman of Hamilton finished in 6th place in the discus.
Hunter Engle of Madison finished in 4th place in the shot put.
Nolan Redeker of Olpe had the fastest time in the 1A boys 3200 meter run with a time of 9:54.34.
Nolan also finished in 5th in the 1600 meter run and 5th in the 800-meter run.
Derek Hoelting finished in 7ths place in the 800-meter run.
Max Blaufuss of Olpe won the Javelin with a throw of 199’10”.
Devan McEwen of Lebo finished in 2nd place in the javelin.
Bryson Turner of Madison had the fastest time in the 100 meter dash.
Bryson also finished in 3rd place in the 200-meter dash and 6th in the long jump.

Ethan Edington of Lyndon finished in 2nd place in the 2A boys long jump and 6th 200-meter dash and 7th in the 100-meter dash.
Abby Peak of Lebo finished in 6th place in the 1A girls pole vault.
Britney Schroer of Chase County finished in 6th place in the 2A girls javelin.
Alfonso Rubio of Mission Valley finished in 4th place in the 2A boys 3200-meter run and 8th in the 1600 meter run.
Macy Smith of Olpe finished in 5th place in the 1A girls 3200-meter run, 4th in the 1600 meter run, and 7th in the 300 hurdles.
Daelyn Winters of Burlingame finished in 4th place in the 1A girls high jump.
Trey Rathke of Northern Heights finished in 2nd place in the 110 hurdles.
Carson Hein of Lebo and Kyle Reese of Lebo finished in 7th and 8th place respectively in the pole vault.
Abigail Criqui of Lyndon finished in 8th place in the triple jump.
Laura Koch of Chase County finished in 8th place in the pole vault.
In the 4 by 800 relay the Olpe girls finished 3rd and Burlingame 4th. Olpe boys finished in 2nd place.
Aiden Voorhees of Southern Coffey County finished in 7th place in the high jump.
Kayley Boyce of Northern Heights finished in 4th place in the high jump.
Jonathen Grame – Mission Valley finished in 7th place in the shot put.
Brooklyn Jones of Lebo finished in 2nd place in the javelin.
In the girls 4 by 100 relay Burlingame finished 4th, Olpe 7th and Mission Valley 5th.
In the boys 4 by 100 relay Madison in 1A and Chase County in 2A finish in 5th place.
Austin Tyson of Burlingame finished in 8th in the 400-meter dash.
Marley Heins of Olpe finished in 8th place in the 800-meter run.
The Burlingame finished 2nd in the 4 by 400 relay.
In the team standings:
1A boys Madison 2nd behind Hanover, Hamilton 4th and Olpe 5th.
The Olpe girls tied for 12th place.
