With the For Kid’s Sake Fundraiser exceeding expectations, Big Brothers Big Sisters serving Lyon County is hoping to continue that success with a new fundraising venture in late June.
During a recent interview on KVOE’s Morning Show, Director Jacque Wellnitz announced the organization will be hosting the inaugural Big on the Block party in downtown Emporia on Jun. 26. Wellnitz says with the pandemic beginning to wind down she felt this was the perfect opportunity to get the community out to help support the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The Big on the Block event comes after the conclusion of the For Kid’s Sake Fundraiser which Wellnitz says generated right around $19,000 for the organization. Tickets are currently available for Big on the Block and cost $25 apiece.
