If the weather cooperates, there will be a lot of road work in Emporia starting soon.
The city’s annual Street Rehabilitation program begins this week and involves 12 streets, including:
*Ninth Avenue from Elm to Lawrence
*12th Avenue from Commercial to Whittier
*Belmont Court
*Congress Street underpass
*Elm Street from Sixth to Grove
*Mechanic Street from South to Second
*Mount Vernon Terrace at 21st
*Old Manor Road
*Randolph Avenue from Neosho to West
*Trowman Way
*Soden Road
*South Exchange
Drivers are asked to observe traffic control with each of these work zones and proceed with caution. People with questions can call the City Engineering Department at 620-343-4260.
