The Emporia American Legion baseball season begins Thursday. The Senior Legion will be playing a doubleheader at Ottawa.
20 players tried out for the Legion baseball teams.
Coach Anthony Markowitz says this will be a developmental summer and players will get a chance to play a lot of baseball.
The Jr Legion will host a 4 team round robin tournament Friday and Saturday.
Friday they will play Lawrence at 1 pm and El Dorado at 7 pm.
Saturday the Emporia Jr Legion will play the Topeka Scrappers at 9 am.
The final 2 games will be played at 1 pm and 3 pm.
