Children and families enjoyed an informative and entertaining evening at the David Traylor Zoo Friday.
The evening saw the return of the zoo’s popular Stroll and Show event where kids were able to take part in a number of fun crafts and educational activities before settling in for a screening of “The Secret Life of Pets 2.” Zoo Director Lisa Keith says they’re happy to have events such as Friday’s back in full swing.
In addition to zoo staff, the Humane Society of the Flint Hills was also on hand offering information about memberships and pet adoptions and Jack’s Snack Shack was in attendance providing food and beverages for the movie. Keith says it is always extra exciting when they’re able to partner with other local agencies and businesses on any endeavor.
Stroll and Show is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of community activities for the zoo with their new “Night in the Wild” event set to take place Friday, Jun. 18 at 5 pm.
