The 2021 Front Porch Jam Series will be starting off their first night of free music Friday from 7-10pm at Las Casitas park.
One night per month until September, local musicians play on a local porch to support local causes. This year’s concert series will go to benefit Emporia’s Habitat for Humanity.
Dana Cole serves on the board for the Emporia Habitat for Humanity and has hosted the Front Porch Jam Series in previous years. She says the concerts will provide a great boost to the organization.
Habitat for Humanity and its efforts are directed towards restoring and improving housing options and strives to play a key role in building stable communities.
The concert is a huge boost for people eager to have an evening to listen to live music. Jeanna Scheve founded and organized the event for several years and mentioned how impactful live music can be on a wide scale.
All residents 21 and older are invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy a night of live music.
