Nearly two weeks after alerting residents of upcoming changes to state COVID-19 unemployment benefits, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced the official launch of the My Reemployment Plan.
The program is designed to connect jobless benefits recipients with workforce service professionals in their areas. Job search assistance will be free and personalized, including:
*Creation of a personalized plan focusing on accountability and goals
*Skills assessment matching interests and skills with local or area jobs
*Resume, interview and networking help
*Labor market information focusing on jobs currently in demand
Residents receiving at least three straight weeks of unemployment benefits will automatically be enrolled. They will then have seven days from receiving a special information email to upload or build a resume at KANSASWORKS.com, complete an online job search as linked in the email and then email the completed form to the Department of Commerce. Benefits may be suspended if this information is not submitted.
The program was developed as a partnership involving the Kansas Departments of Commerce and Labor as well as the KANSASWORKS Workforce System. More information is available at www.KANSASWORKS.com or by calling 877-509-6757.
