The David Traylor Zoo has been in full renovation mode for months, and it’s halting that for the first-ever Night in the Wild on-site auction fundraiser Friday night.
Director Lisa Keith says this is a big night for the zoo because funds will benefit ongoing zoo improvements as well as conservation and education efforts.
Residents can walk through the brand-new entrance and stroll around to see the upgrades, including renovated waterfowl and kookaburra exhibits and a new memorial area. Soden Road is available for parking, as will the Zoo Education Center and the area immediately south of the building.
Activities go from 5-8 pm. There are just a handful of tickets left. People can call 620-341-4365 for information. Tickets are $25 each or tables for eight people sell for $200.
