The #VaxToNormal vaccine and incentive campaign is generating some additional interest in coronavirus shots, according to Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Thursday, Millbern said the campaign is doing its job in fostering interest.
Millbern says a lot of residents have their reasons for not getting vaccinated.
The campaign, organized by the Greater Emporia Area Disaster Relief Fund, features weekly prize drawings and has a pop-up drive-thru clinic set for July 10 at Riverside Elementary. Spokesperson Jessica Buchholz outlined the eligibility requirements on KVOE’s Morning Show this week:
Millbern says Public Health is scheduling for the pop-up drive-thru clinic now, either through the Public Health Hotline at 620-208-3741 or online at www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org.
So far, Millbern says about 13,000 Lyon County residents have been fully vaccinated, meaning about 46 percent of eligible residents ages 12 and up and about 40 percent of the total county population is fully vaccinated.
