Three is a decent chance of showers and thunderstorms before Father’s Day comes to an end.
Showers and storms could build in coverage area by late afternoon and continue through at least the early evening hours. There is currently a marginal risk of severe weather areawide for quarter-sized hail and wind gusts as high as 60 mph. Heavy rainfall is more likely with any of the storms that develop.
Scorching heat is guaranteed — again — as we reach 99 degrees by late afternoon. Heat index readings could be as high as 101 or 102. Our current weeklong burst of heat will be ending Monday, with showers and storms in the forecast leading to a high of 77 degrees. Unfortunately, 90s return to the forecast as soon as Wednesday.
