The Emporia Junior Legion baseball team fell behind early and could never recover in a 12-3 loss to the Salina Hawks Tuesday.
Salina would get on the board first thanks to a four-run first inning. Emporia would respond scoring their only three runs in the third inning before the Hawks added three more in the bottom of the inning and closed out the game scoring five runs in the fifth.
Derrick Morris led Emporia offensively going 2 for 2 at the plate.
The Senior Legion team will be in action Friday against McPherson after going 2-2 against Chase County and Ottawa this past weekend.
