The Emporia State Women’s Soccer fall schedule was recently released. With the home opener against rival Washburn on Sunday, Sept. 19th. The second game in the rivalry won’t come until late October. Emporia State Head Coach Bryan Sailer (Sy-ler) gave his thoughts on the schedule.
The schedule is twice the games of the spring season with 18 games, giving players little rest between seasons.
The Hornets are coming off a 9-0 spring season but lost in the first round of the MIAA Spring Season Tournament. Returning forward Mackenzie Dimarco will look to continue her scoring spree in her sophomore season. Dimarco had 11 goals in 10 matches and earned MIAA First Team all-conference in last year’s spring season.
The Hornet’s first game is August 31st at Butler Community College. The full schedule is available on the Women’s Soccer Webpage.
