The first of several planned renovations atThe Howe House is now complete. The house, built in 1867, is the oldest house and the second oldest structure in Lyon County.
As part of an ongoing improvement plan, a new walking path was recently added as well as renovations to the building. Lyon County History Center Executive Director Greg Jordan explains how important the renovations are to the preservation of the home.
The new path cuts through 18 acres of wildflowers and native grass. Plans are formulating to add pollinating flowers for the bees.
