Youth Director
Position Description:
First United Methodist Church in Emporia, Kansas is looking for a vibrant, dynamic, and self-motivated individual to join its well-established team to serve as Youth Director in a strong existing program. The Youth Director is responsible for ministry programming for youth in grades 6-12. This individual will design and implement avenues for youth to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Youth Director will create meaningful, engaging, and fun experiences for high school and middle school youth that incorporate service and mission opportunities. Because this position collaborates and works closely with staff and ministry teams, excellent communication and organizational skills are key. The ideal candidate will be spiritually passionate and emotionally mature, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be positive and adaptive. This is a flexible position that can be full or part-time (25-40 hours per week) depending on the applicant.
Qualifications:
• A college degree or other applicable post-secondary education
• Prior experience working with youth
• Familiarity with UMC theology and structure preferred
