Two motorcycle riders were taken to hospitals for medical care after a crash in far east Chase County on Thursday night.
Emporia Fire joined Chase County deputies and Chase County EMS at the scene of a wreck involving a motorcycle and car on US Highway 50 near Chase County Road Z outside Saffordville shortly after 7:45 pm. Early indications are the motorcycle rear-ended the other vehicle.
One person on the motorcycle was airlifted for treatment. The exact location has not been announced. The other person on the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health. The person in the car declined treatment.
Names have not been released. The Chase County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
