Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez will be making his 7th All-Star game appearance and making his 6th start as the American League Catcher.
Perez was announced as a starter based on fan voting.
This will be Perez’s first All-Star Game since 2018 after missing the ’19 season due to Tommy John surgery. There were no All-Star selections in ’20 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pitchers and reserves will be announced on Sunday.
