Once again, area counties have seen little to no movement in their coronavirus stats as relayed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
*Chase County added one total case, moving to 278. Deaths remain at three. There are four variant cases confirmed, three of the UK or alpha strain and one of the India or delta strain.
*Coffey County is at 751 total cases, up one from a week ago. Deaths are steady at 23. There is one epsilon variant reported by KDHE.
*Greenwood County added four cases and now stands at 575 total. Deaths are unchanged at 11. One case of the alpha variant has been reported.
*Morris County remained unchanged by KDHE numbers with 591 total cases and 23 deaths. The state count is noticeably lower than the county’s announced total of 632. Reasons have not been announced. There is one case of the Japan-Brazil or gamma variant reported.
*Osage County has 1,267 cases, up one from a week ago. Deaths remain at 26. There are five cases of the alpha variant.
*Wabaunsee County is at 698 cases. It is up nine from a week ago, the biggest increase for an area county during that time. Deaths increased one and now stand at 14. Three cases of the alpha variant have been confirmed.
