Emporia Fire took one person from the scene of a crash at the US Highway 50 roundabout early Sunday.
The one-vehicle wreck was reported around 4:30 am. The cause of the wreck is unclear. Visual evidence at the scene indicates the driver went west-to-east through the roundabout, leading to significant front-end damage to the car and some damage to the roundabout itself.
The driver’s name has not been released. Fire Capt. Ryan Schmidt says that person went to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment. The wreck remains under investigation.
