The Emporia American Legion baseball teams will be playing in the Salina Grand Slam Tournament beginning Thursday.
The Senior Legion opens play against Newton at 10 am.
For Cade Kohlmeier getting a chance to play this summer has been a bonus.
The Seniors have not played since July 26th in the McPherson Hooper Showcase. Kohlmeier says they are looking forward to getting back on the diamond.
The Senior Legion will also play 316 Dreifort Thursday afternoon and the Salina Falcons Friday afternoon.
The Junior Legion opens against McPherson at 12:15. This is the final tournament of the season for the Junior Legion. Derrick Morris says the record may not show it but they have improved this season.
The Junior Legion will also play the Salina Eagles and Topeka Scrappers on Friday in pool play.
