Olpe Downhome will have two days full of activities this upcoming weekend, and organizers can’t wait.
Spokesman Vince Kinsey says organizers are ready for the town festival after it had to be canceled last year due to coronavirus.
Saturday’s schedule is full, starting with breakfast at Olpe’s United Methodist Church. A bike ride, co-ed softball tournament, kids fishing derby and cake walk are part of the morning activities. The parade is at 3 pm, followed by the Firemen’s barbecue, Downhome Challenge, Servicemen and Servicewomen Appreciation and street dance among the evening activities.
Sunday has an archery tournament and poker run on the schedule.
Prize tickets will be available at Olpe Jones Park on Saturday. Proceeds from prize drawings will help to fund a splash pad in the park.
