Parts of the KVOE listening area near Emporia are in separate severe thunderstorm watches for most of the rest of Saturday.
Greenwood County is in a watch until 11 pm. Weather risks include hail to lime size, or 2 inches in diameter, along with wind gusts to 70 mph, heavy rain and an isolated tornado.
Wabaunsee County, meanwhile, is in a watch until 10 pm. Hail to lime size and 70 mph winds are the main weather concerns.
So far, no severe weather has been reported.

2-9 am Saturday: No severe weather from overnight storms, but severe weather again possible by Saturday afternoon
Thunderstorms brought brief heavy rainfall to the KVOE listening area early Saturday, and strong storms are possible areawide for Saturday afternoon.

*Americus: 1.1 to 1.75 inches

*Osage City: 4 inches
There was also a risk of severe thunderstorm activity. Parts of Lyon and several surrounding counties were part of one severe thunderstorm warning around 2 am for the risk of 60 mph winds, but the warning was expired early with no reports of severe weather. A severe thunderstorm warning affected Lyon and most surrounding counties as well overnight.
Shortly after 4:30 am, Evergy reported wide-ranging power outages essentially across the north half of the KVOE listening area, including locations just north of Emporia. Estimated restoration times are currently unavailable due to the number of outages, which passed 1,000 across the network as storms crossed northeast and east-central Kansas.
Another round of potentially severe weather is possible for all afternoon Saturday. The Storm Prediction Center has the area in a slight severe weather risk. Wind and hail are the main concerns, along with heavy rainfall, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.
