Two juveniles have been arrested after an alleged break-in attempt at an Emporia convenience store.
Emporia Police Sgt. Lisa Hayes says the Lyon County Emergency Communications Center received an alarm call at Max’s BP, 202 East Sixth, around 1 am. Officers found a broken window when they arrived. They also arrested the juveniles, one near the scene and the other at an unspecified location.
The juveniles are not currently being named. Both were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and criminal damage. Hayes says the juveniles are also suspects in previous graffiti damage within the city limits.
Formal charges are pending.
