State education officials will start criscrossing Kansas later this month for a series of community conversations on education redesign.
The Kansans Can Success Tour begins July 26 and continues through Sept. 9. Education Commissioner Randy Watson and Deputy Commissioner Brad Neuenswander will lead the discussions with members of the Kansas State Board of Education also part of the tour. It follows the recent announcement of schools tabbed for participation in the Kansans Can redesign effort’s Apollo III phase, the final phase in this process. The goal is to gather community input on education’s direction in Kansas as the state has been trying to lead the world in the success of every student.
Emporia and two other area communities will have tour stops:
*Emporia: 6-7:30 pm Sept. 1, Bowyer Community Building
*Burlington: 9-10:30 am Aug. 16, Burlington High
*Eureka: 9-10:30 am Sept. 9, Eureka High
