The latest public health report amid the outbreak of several SARS-CoV-2 variants will highlight Thursday’s action session held by the Lyon County Commission.
Lyon County Health Officer Dr. Ladun Oyenuga and Public Health Incident Commander Renee Hively will present the monthly report, which could include discussions on policy revisions after guidance changes on mask use from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention earlier this week.
Considerations for multiple planning and zoning projects will also be processed. Commissioners will consider a resolution that will extend the Emporia city limits to include land located at 600 Road 180. Discussions will also include signing the 5-year cycle recertification application for the continued participation in the Consumer Rating System program that gives landowners a discount on flood insurance premiums.
A potential re-deck project on Lyon County Bridge FAS 50 on Road Z between Roads 60 and 70 will see attention and commissioners will consider the signing of a KDOT agreement to continue the plans. KDOT has already announced just under $400,000 in state money for the project.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will also ask for the approval of the purchase of Tek84 scanners while not exceeding $147,000 from the fund.
The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
