Excessive heat is not the only weather-related concern for the KVOE listening area Saturday.
The National Weather Service says there is a marginal risk of severe weather for the majority of east-central Kansas including the listening area. Thunderstorms capable of producing high winds and large hail could develop Saturday afternoon.
The most likely time for thunderstorm activity is between 3 pm and 9 pm.
The chance of severe thunderstorms comes as an excessive heat warning remains in place for portions of the listening area including Lyon, Coffey, Greenwood and Osage counties until 9 pm Saturday.
