One woman accused of animal cruelty at her home in Hartford had her pretrial hearing delayed Monday.
Rhonda Staggs will now have a hearing Sept. 20 after defense attorneys requested more time to review videos in the case, according to Lyon County Attorney Marc Goodman. District Court says Staggs was late for her hearing.
Like her husband, Thomas, Rhonda Staggs face 17 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after dogs were taken from their home in late May. Thomas Staggs will be back in court for a pretrial hearing Aug. 27. He has requested a jury trial in his case, so potential trial dates will likely be discussed at that hearing.
