The Emporia Rescue Mission is encouraging residents to check out its new location.
The Rescue Mission has an open house planned from 4-6 pm Thursday at the former Amend Girl Scout Center, 1236 East 12th. Guided tours will be part of the event.
The Rescue Mission raised around $400,000 to buy the building after it was put on the market by the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland last fall. Recent renovations have included fire and safety equipment upgrades to adjust the building from office space to a residential setting.
