A small fire in north-central Emporia is under investigation.
Emporia firefighters went to 1533 Merchant shortly before 5 pm after a small fire was reported on the porch. Fire Capt. Bill Harmon says the fire was still evident when firefighters arrived, so they used an extinguisher to finish the job.
Little damage was reported. The cause is under investigation.
