The United Way of the Flint Hills’ annual campaign doesn’t have the kickoff event for Thursday evening as planned, but USD 252 Southern Lyon County Superintendent Mike Argabright is honored to have been selected to serve as the United Way’s campaign drive chair for 2021-22.
Argabright believes his 16 years as Superintendent at Southern Lyon County will be a major benefit for this year’s campaign as he has a great connection with the local community. Argabright says he is looking to both grow existing relationships while also building new relationships with the local community that can benefit the United Way for years to come.
Argabright says he feels it is a great honor to represent the United Way in this capacity and is excited to do so as he feels many of his own values are perfectly reflected by the work of the United Way.
Even though the campaign kickoff was canceled last week, the campaign officially begins Thursday. Some related fundraisers are tentatively slated to return. Workplace campaign information should be distributed within the next month.
Last year’s campaign managed to raise more than $444,000 for the United Way to benefit over 20 community partners serving eight counties.
